Early start today at 4am to leave for Abu Simbel. But worth the hassle! Hottest day so far – 44° or more! Stopped at a Fata morgana at the way back.
Afternoon: Visitin the nubian village. Dad petting some crocodiles and a nice sunset while sailing by the Old Cataract Hotel (Its guests have included Tsar Nicholas II, Winston Churchill, Howard Carter, Margaret Thatcher, Jimmy Carter, François Mitterrand, Princess Diana, Queen Noor and Agatha Christie, who set portions of her novel Death on the Nile at the hotel.)
Fight back to Cairo only very late – arrived in the hotel at 3am in the morning – I also want to be as fit as my parents at that age, so I can do 23hours of „action“ (at 44°C temperature!) – and they got up before me the next day (9am).
